A history of experience
Proprietor, Antonio Almonte, has more than 30 years working in the cigar industry as both a cigar roller and retailer. He began rolling cigars as a young boy, learning from his father then going on to work as a cigar roller at his brother’s cigar factory, Tabacalera DBL, in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
Antonio Almonte is a third-generation disciple of the cigar industry with 68 members of his family working in the cigar business, including his brother, Francisco Almonte, who is the renowned owner of DBL Cigars.
Antonio prides himself in delivering a personalized shopping experience to each one of his patrons by going out of his way to accommodate all his guests’ needs. Almonte Tobacconist offers a carefully curated collection of premium cigars from around the globe including the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Honduras, and more. The store’s huge premium cigar collection (more than 10,000 cigars) was hand-selected by Almonte himself as an exhibition of the finest cigars the world has to offer.
Guests can elevate their cigar smoking experience by relaxing in the store’s smoking lounge where fresh, hot Dominican coffee is always served. The lounge, which is equipped with flat panel TVs, a fireplace and free wifi, has plenty of comfortable leather seats and is BYOB friendly. There are also plenty of highly-rated restaurants within walking distance that deliver to the lounge.
